The TMC2209 is the ultimate stepper driver for the desktop solution, allowing both stall detection and extremely silent operation.Compatible with many traditional driver pins, it supports higher current while reducing cooling requirements.

Recently, TRINAMIC Motion Control GmbH & Co. announced the launch of ultra-silent TMC2209 step-drive IC, which can also be used as SilentStepSTIck.Motor drivers for two-phase stepper motors up to 2A RMS and 29V can run in parallel with the StallGuard4™ and StealthChop2™, ensuring noise-free operation without limit switches.

When implemented in an application, these capabilities allow physical and software components to interweave.In addition to providing a solid hardware base for software-defined machines, it allows for next-generation integration of users and devices by automatically identifying hard stops and keeping them silent as much as possible, while optimizing motor performance.

With fast current regulation of TMC2209, Trinamic ensures manufacturers are able to carry this within the future.SpreadCycle™ is optional for high dynamic motion control without heat.When activated, StallGuard adds sensorless homing and additional security to applications, enabling them to recognize hard stops without terminal switches.Combined with protection and diagnostics, this allows the driver IC to perform robust and reliable operations.

The easy-to-use UART interface allows adjustments to be stored in OTP memory embedded in TMC2209.It also comes with a step/dir interface with microstepping pin Settings.TMC2209 and tmc2209-eval will be launched through Trinamic distribution channels in mid-june.SilentStepSTIck TMC2209 will be released at the same time for rapid testing and design, providing an open source design, and containing all the required components.
